HIP HOP

Want to learn to dance like Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera & the Pussycat Dolls then this is the class for you! Every Tuesday night classes are held in Castle Hill with the lovely and patient Max who was in the Top 20 Dancers in Australia in 2009 on the Hit TV Show "So you Think you Can Dance"!

Max started dancing at the age of 5, and since then has performed and studied in Modern ballet, contemporary, jazz and hip hop. Also completing her scholarship at Urban Dance Centre.

At the first Australian MTV Awards, Max performed with Grinspoon, Simple Plan and as a main dancer for American artist Chingy. She has also danced in video clips for Young Divas, Da’Vid and 2005 Australian Idol contestant Roxane Lebrasse.

At the 2007 A1 Grand Prix, Max was a back-up dancer for Ricki Lee. Performed with GrooveLock at the Royal Easter Show on the Xtreme Arena stage, with FiggKidd at the 2007 Urban Music Awards, charity events and the Royal Prince Alfred hospital, she was seen dancing on The morning show with Kerri anne Kennerly, and most recently made it to the Top 100 for the first Australian So You Think You Can Dance which will be aired in 2008.

For those who have been watching So you Think you Can Dance you will recognise Max, our Hip Hop teacher from the show! Unfortunately Max has been eliminated from the Top 20 (a huge achievement to have even made it that far!!!)

Here's a bit of background from the show:
After a successful audition in Season one (2008) that saw Max make it through to the Top 100, she returned for Season two (2009), but it wasn't going to be an easy ride. Originally auditioning in Sydney, Max impressed the judges with her funky style. She made it through to choreography but in her final judgement, a verbal slip-up cost her a ticket to Sydney – her dreams shattered, once again. But determination and self-belief led her to follow the audition trail to Brisbane and perform for the judges once again. This time, her persistence paid off, her dancing talent undeniable.

Having danced for 16 years, Max has trained in hip-hop and jazz and commenced a Bachelor of Dance Education degree before leaving to pursue more active professional dance employment. Her tenacity has paid off and her individual style is a welcome addition to the Top 20.
